Let’s be honest. Living the Christian life is not always easy. Trials come, questions arise, and things don’t always turn out the way we thought they should. The truth is, God never intended for us to go through this life alone. We need each other. Our desire is to be a church that really helps people BELONG.

We have several ways to connect with other believers in small groups. Two main ways we offer are Life Groups and Growth Groups. Below is information to help you understand the difference and how to get involved.

About Life Groups

A great way to BELONG is to be part of a Life Group: a place where we can do life…together. We can pray for one another, ask those questions, and establish close friendships that we all long for. This is a non-threatening way to meet other people at FCCS. They meet at various locations and times throughout the week. The simple goal is friendship and the results can be a sense of community and belonging. Typically, Life Groups meet once a week for a study and then they get together other times of the week, like going to the beach, having a meal together or just hanging out. Some groups meet every other week, or even once a month. It just depends upon the needs of the members of that group. Once a group grows beyond 10-12 people, the leader will start looking for someone to lead another group so they can eventually split into two individual Life Groups.

FCCS Life Groups

• Meet with the same people for a long time period – they “do life together”
• Are led and hosted by FCCS people with a desire and ability to lead
• Meet on various locations and days/times throughout the week
• May be for certain groups such as youth, couples, singles, all men or all women
• Contain from 8-10 people on average including leader and host
• Discuss and apply the message from Sunday’s sermon or a related video curriculum
• May include refreshments or meals, but always provide encouragement, prayer for the church and each other

Life Group Leaders Needed

If you are interested in hosting or leading a life group, please contact the church office at (727) 393-2136. Facilitating or hosting a Life Group is easier than you might think. You don’t have to be a great communicator or Bible scholar. It’s really just about caring for people and desiring to see people grow in their Christian faith. We can put you in touch with someone who will walk you through the steps and even work with you through the process.
